Yoga, Pilates, and Fitness Class Decriptions PILATES CLASSES All Pilates Mat classes have the opportunity to use different apparatuses; for instance, stability ball, mini ball, weights and resistant bands. Use of these apparatuses will be determined by instructor, based on class goals and each member’s knowledge/awareness of Pilates. STRETCHING YOGA CLASSES ALWAYS GENTLE HATHA YOGA Hatha means sun/moon. It is the physical limb of the eight limbed path of yoga.Yoga is expressed through the movement of the body. SURYA YOGA IYENGAR YOGA Iyengar is the style of Hatha Yoga that deepens the intended stretch, aligns the body and builds structure over time through the use of props. Students learn incremental movements towards deep stretches, bodily alignment and foundation poses. Through use of breath and focus, over time the student integrates mind, body and emotion. KUNDALINI YOGA A yoga style that fits the busy life that most of us lead. Kundalini is effectivce, efficient and easy. A style to learn to contro; the waves of teh mind. Fitness Class Descriptions Strength and Sculpting - a 45 min full body workout that retains lean muscle mass and boosts your metabolism Cardio Fusion- a combination of aerobic and light weight training workout. The class emphasizes fat burning by using step-light-weights. The class begins with a stretch, progressing in to 25-40 minutes of cardio work and concludes with toning of abs-gluts-thighs and an energizing stretch. Cardio-Kickboxing-a high intensity workout taught by Patti Longoria and her instructors Longoria’s Kickboxing. This class uses bags and gloves. Let’s Get Moving - This class is designed for those who would like to get involved in an exercise class, but haven’t been in some time. It is also for those who have just completed physical therapy, or have some type pf physical ailment that prevents them from joining a regular exercise class. The class is 50 minutes and combines dance, weight training, resistance training, pilates, yoga, tai chi, and balance training. Adult Ballet - An open level class focused on muscle toning and stretching with the traditional exercises of classical ballet. No previous dance experience required. 75 minutes Adult Hip Hop - A high energy, quick-paced class in the popular form of urban social dance. A great cardiovascular workout with no previous dance experience needed.
